Garden Design

Bespoke, Professional Garden Design Services across Ireland.

Every Garden Design Project is different and each client has differing needs, tastes and requirements. Our range of garden design services reflect this and we tailor our garden designs to suit each particular situation. What sets us apart from the rest is our ability to interpret these needs, tastes and requirements and incorporate them into beautiful garden designs which are sympathetic to the site and the wider environment. Depending on budgets and complexity of the project we produce a range of drawings from simple 2D outline plans to detailed Planting Plans and 3D Garden visualisations.

The Garden Design Process

A complete garden design commission may evolve over several different design stages. Listed below are the stages that a typical project can undertake. Design Stages 1 & 2 and usually the minimum stages that one would avail of. Stages 3 to 7 are optional and will depend on your exact situation and requirements.

1) Site Visit & Consultation

The initial consultation enables us to visit the garden, assess the scope of works for a garden design commission as well as the potential of the site. We will take photos of the site, detailed measurements as well as a detailed design brief from you, discussing initial ideas, your likes and wishes for the garden, styles, themes, time frames and so on. This site visit will allow us to give you an accurate price for a garden design commission. A nominal fee is charged for this initial service.

2) Garden Design-Masterplan Drawing(s)

This plan is based on our site survey (or a survey provided by you) and initial consultation. It is the main plan for the garden and it will contain outline details of materials, features, design elements and any other information required to communicate the overall design.  The plan will show location and suggestion of specimen plants and a list of suggested plants to use in the garden. For larger sites the masterplan may include additional plans of zoomed in areas of the site showing more detail where required.

3) 3D Garden Visualisations

This stage adds an extra dimension to your garden design and will give you a realistic view of exactly how the garden will look. You can experience your garden built in a virtual world and explore the garden to ensure it is exactly what you want. A walk-through video of the garden can be done on request.

4) Planting Plan

Plants selected for different conditions and effects in the garden. Location and quantities will be displayed on a planting plan drawing. Plant choice will always be based on site suitability, the nature of the site and the individual design.

5) Detail Design Drawings & Quantities

Depending on the complexity of the design and who will be carrying out the work, we can offer to bring your design more detail. This comes in the form of Setting Out Plans, Construction Details, Lighting Plans, Drainage and Irrigation Plans. The detail garden drawing pack may also include layout drawings for ducting for irrigation and electrics as well as a full lighting plan including specifications on fittings. As part of this phase we can also offer a full bill of quantities for the construction of the garden.

6) Project Tendering

Let us manage the tendering of your garden project to a selected panel of reputable contractors for pricing. By strict evaluation of tenders we will ensure that you will get the best value for money and standard of workmanship available.

7) Project Management

Whether you have a landscape contractor in mind or not we provide a project management service to ensure the garden build is carried out as specified and to the highest standards. The extent of our presence would be assessed on an individual project basis and agreed with you. We would attend site to inspect works and to be available during times of detailed project installation.
